Luis Arce Catacora, 57, with a degree in Economics, is the 67th president of Bolivia after assuming office this Sunday, after having won, together with David Choquehuanca, now vice president, the general elections of 18 October with 55.10% of the votes.

Luis Arce was Minister of Economy and Finance in the government of former President Evo Morales, and Choquehuanca was Chancellor.

In his first speech as president of Bolivia, Arce promised that he will govern for all Bolivians promoting peace and unity.

“We are beginning a new stage in our history and we want to do it with a government that is for everyone and for everyone, without discrimination of any kind.
