Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council for International Affairs Hossein Amir Abd al-Lahyan emphasized that Iran's continued unilateral commitment to the nuclear agreement is unacceptable and cannot be continued.
"Tehran always considers diplomatic negotiations a useful method, but negotiation for the sake of negotiation is a repetitive and absurd game," Fars News Agency quoted Abd al-Lahian as saying during his meeting with the British ambassador to Tehran, Rob Macaire.
He pointed out that it would be useful to hold talks between parliamentary committees of Iran and Britain, criticizing the slow pace of cooperation, including London’s failure to fulfill its obligations, and said that “some officials in London, in addition to not fulfilling their obligations towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, are leveling baseless accusations against it, which is what It is considered unconstructive behavior in the course of relations between the two countries.
To that, Abd al-Lahian stressed the need to establish peace and security in the region, including Yemen.
