President Bashar Al-Assad emphasized that the international conference for the return of refugees to be held in Damascus is just the beginning of solving this humanitarian issue, pointing out that the largest number of refugees want to return to Syria.

President al-Assad clarified during talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin through video conference technology that the bulk of the refugees want to return to Syria after the state has created the appropriate conditions for this, and we hope that the conference for the return of refugees will produce important results.

He said ... that the bulk of the refugees strongly desire to return to Syria, especially after the state provided a large number of facilities, some of them legislative and some of them related to procedures for their return.

President al-Assad added .. The refugee issue is a humanitarian issue for us, for you and for many countries, but for us it is a national issue, and the International Conference on the Return of Refugees is just the beginning of solving this humanitarian issue.

President al-Assad added that every house in Syria cares about the refugee issue, and this issue is a priority for us as a government during the next stage, especially after a large part of the territories have been liberated and the battlefield has receded despite the continuation of terrorism.

President Al-Assad said .. It is necessary for the conference to be addressed and for us, you and other countries interested in this issue on the basis of the causes, and as you know, the largest part of the refugees are those who fled terrorism.

He explained that the biggest obstacle to the return of refugees is the Western blockade imposed on Syria, on the state and on the people, and thus the return of these refugees needs to secure the basic needs necessary for their livelihood.

For his part, the Russian president stressed that Russia supports holding an international conference on refugees, and the Russian delegation will be among the largest.
