A resident of Ashdod was sentenced to five years in prison as part of a plea deal, after being convicted of severely assaulting his ex-partner.
According to the indictment filed against the man, the two met after ending their relationship, which lasted five years.
He approached her angrily and threw tightly on the road the bicycle with which she had come to a meeting with him.
Later, he attacked a passerby who tried to separate the two.
The man then pulled out a "Japanese" knife he was holding, grabbed the complainant tightly and cut her using the knife in her cheek and neck.
The complainant grabbed her face in a panic and shouted, so the defendant ran towards her and knocked her hard on the road next to which they were standing.
The defendant left the scene of the attack, and the police forces that arrived at the scene were directed to the location of the suspect with the help of a passer-by who passed by. Some time later, the defendant was located and arrested by the officers who chased him.
