The Republic of Cyprus decided on Wednesday November 11 to confine two main cities where the number of cases of the Covid-19 disease has exploded in recent weeks, after the establishment of a night curfew throughout the Isle.

With the objective of slowing down this increase and easing the pressure on hospital services, the port cities of Paphos and Limassol will be in containment from Thursday until the end of November, authorities said.
No one will be able to enter these cities and the inhabitants of the two cities will not be able to leave them.
The nighttime curfew will also be extended from three hours, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
According to Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou, 70% of cases have been recorded in Paphos and Limassol.
Parks, museums, cinemas, shopping centers, gyms will also be closed there.
In the rest of the island, a curfew from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. will remain in effect and bars, restaurants and cafes will have to close at 10:30 p.m. local time, until November 30.
