Several thousand supporters of the far right marched Wednesday, November 11 in central Warsaw on foot, motorbike or car on the occasion of the National Independence Day despite a ban by municipal authorities because of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Protesters lit flares and detonated firecrackers.
Police reported at least one incident in which officers were attacked by "
groups of hooligans

Liberal mayor of the city Rafal Trzaskowski had banned the demonstration this year due to the pandemic and the government had called for not taking part.
The national day of November 11 celebrates the return to independence of Poland in 1918 after the First World War.
