The Budget and Accounts Committee of the People's Assembly discussed the investment budget of the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection and its affiliated bodies, amounting to 14 billion and 615 million Syrian pounds.

The interventions of the members of the committee focused on the need to overcome the difficulties encountered in securing and distributing bread, as it is the basic material for the citizen, in addition to controlling the market, fixing the prices of materials in the markets, ensuring that subsidies reach those who are eligible, and the importance of networking and automating work in the ministry to improve its quality and combat imbalance and corruption.

The members called for a separation between internal trade and consumer protection, updating laws, encouraging self-initiatives, activating the role of supply control, addressing the shortage of Syrian sales outlets for trade, finding a solution to the problem of the difficulty of accessing subsidized materials to rural and remote areas, fighting the black market for cement materials and restricting them to the Omran Corporation and paying attention to the central laboratory for food inspection and development in light of The absence of accurate laboratories and monitoring the accuracy of weights in the gases.

In response to the members' questions between the Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Talal Al-Barazi, that the ministry cannot reduce the prices of materials in the market, but rather determine and stabilize them, and that the price increase is related to the increase in the production cost of the material, indicating that there is an increase in the volume of the stock of materials and this will positively affect the citizen during the period Nearby.

Al-Barazi explained that the shortage of silos in Syria, as a result of the destruction of terrorism, led to a decrease in the amount of material and thus the difficulty in distributing it, pointing out that the ministry had a positive role in carrying a burden on the citizen regarding the stationery issue.

The Minister of Internal Trade explained that there are instructions to tighten the supply control in addition to enhancing the citizen's complaint culture to contribute to the effective control process, pointing out that licenses of a number of gas stations and private ovens have been violated as a result of their repeated violations, in addition to an integrated vision regarding the automation of the ministry’s work and fighting the black market.
