The epidemic affects Hong Kong in the first half of this year. Schools will be ordered to suspend classes. Children cannot go to school as usual, and their stay at home has increased. Many families have problems with discipline and getting along. After the resumption of classes, some parents also have to deal with their children's discipline issues such as reluctance to get up, do not want to go to school, and do not like to greet others. I believe that many parents also feel "headache". Kindergarten principal Zhou Huizhen, who has 40 years of education experience, received a grant from the Social Welfare Development Fund earlier to invite registered educational psychologist Peng Zhihua and illustrator Gao Wenhao to collaborate to design a free parent-child discipline mobile app "i generation parent-child experiment" "Play", with interactive functions that can take photos of readers and record narrations, allowing children and parents to become the protagonists in the book, experiencing daily situations such as "unwilling to get up", "unwilling to go to school", "beating children", etc. to teach children the correct life Attitude and dealing skills.

Mrs. Zhong, who tried the app, said that the problem of her son Sensen’s reluctance to get up once bothered her and her husband.

It is believed that many parents feel "headaches" such as children's reluctance to get up, to go to school, and to greet others.

Parent Zhong Tai said that the son Sensen, who is in the upper class of the kindergarten, used to sleep in bed too much. She was too accommodating that his son could not wake him up. Her husband emphasized authority and often "worked" to wake up his son, causing his son to cry and go out to bed. .

She said that after trying out the mobile app, the husband and son listened to stories and recorded stories together on many topics in common. The two got along more harmoniously than before. She also found a suitable way to wake up her son: "The son wants to do both kindness and power. I suggest that I will encourage him to get up with the activities of the day, take him, and drag him out of the room. Now it is no longer a stalemate to get up every day. And my husband also has suggestions to browse the parent page in the program at night, I believe it will help They get along."

The mobile app "i-generation parent-child experimental drama" trialed by Mrs. Chung is a free program for children aged 2 to 6 and parents. It is co-ordinated by Zhou Huizhen, the principal of Zhang Zhushan Kindergarten of Wuyi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Zhou Huizhen explained that for 40 years as the principal of a kindergarten, every year she received help from parents who were troubled by discipline problems, and a small number of them even caused family conflicts. By the end of 2017, a student in the upper class (K3) with special learning needs (SEN) Dad, share with her the self-made picture book that successfully posted his son's photo, and teach his son to be patient when taking the MTR, and not to scold or treat others impolitely in order to fight for seats.

The incident inspired Zhou Huizhen to develop an interactive program for parent-child discipline. "Young parents like to find information on the Internet on mobile phones. I hope that the program can help teach children how to deal with others, relieve parents’ pressure on discipline and help them reflect on whether the discipline standards are reasonable and appropriate, and reduce the risk Family conflict or tragedy.”

In 2018, Huizhen Zhou applied for funding from the Development Fund of the Social Welfare Department in the name of the Wuyi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and was approved for more than HK$400,000 for research and development. She invited her father Gao Wenhao, who had successfully changed her son with illustrations, to serve as an illustrator. Peng Zhihua, a senior registered educational psychologist, gives professional advice on parenting and has been co-operated by experts such as computer programmers.

After spending more than two years, he finally developed an interactive parent-child discipline mobile app "i-generation parent-child experimental drama".

The APP was put into testing at the beginning of this year and was awarded intellectual property certification by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries in July.

Zhou Huizhen said that the program was originally launched during the suspension of the epidemic, but was worried that someone would take the opportunity to use the program for profit, so he decided to publish it after applying for intellectual property certification. It was unexpectedly delayed due to the epidemic.

The APP is officially open to all parents in Hong Kong for free use this month. The program is divided into "Parents Edition" and "Parent-Child Edition", with a total of 15 daily situations such as "Unwilling to get up", "Unwilling to go to school", "Don't say hello", "Refusal to go to the toilet", "Hit children", etc. are also applicable to children aged 2 to 6 and their parents.

The questionnaire in the "Parents Edition" can help parents understand whether their mode of discipline is authoritative, enviable, accommodating, or neglectful, and understand the possible impact of their discipline on their children. For example, authoritative parents have high expectations and requirements for their children. Pay attention to compliance; the accommodating type is to pay attention to children's feelings, tend to give in or deal with in the form of rewards.

As for the "Parent-Child Edition", it simply shows how to treat people and things properly and courteously in 15 situations in the form of a picture book story.

Before the start, parents and children can take avatars and become the protagonists in the story. Users can directly listen to the recording of the story, or use the "recording function" to record their own family narration, which makes it easier for children to engage. The program has a drawing function for children. Coloring, drawing and writing on the preset electronic drawing, such as drawing the room layout like reality, after completion, it also provides the option of printing the story, and integrates a unique children's picture book.

Peng Zhihua, a registered educational psychologist, said that each child has a different personality and different methods of discipline. Therefore, there are a total of 240 different results and suggestions for 15 situations in the APP, which is convenient for parents to choose the style of discipline under different circumstances. Choose the options when facing the situation, so as to understand the impact of their discipline and choices on their children.

Peng Zhihua, a senior educational psychologist who provides professional advice to the APP, said that parents’ growth experience will affect the mode of disciplining their children after they grow up. The questionnaire can help parents understand the advantages and disadvantages of different disciplines. Because each child has a different personality, plus The children of the new generation are more personalized. Traditional parent lectures are difficult to explain the situation in different situations. The program allows parents to understand different ways of discipline, which can lead to different results. Parents can choose the most appropriate way of discipline according to their children's personality and habits.

When children develop, they can hardly turn back and become scared, but they have no self-confidence when they grow up; they are too accommodating and still use diapers at the age of 4, while APP is like a game therapy, allowing children to learn to get along with others.

At the same time, parents can understand the advantages and disadvantages of each other's discipline, complement each other and be considerate, don't blame each other, and reduce children's emotional problems caused by parental quarrels.

Zhou Huizhen bluntly stated that at the beginning he planned to design at least 25 stories, but the approved funds were only enough to design 12 scenes, but the team was willing to pay extra, and finally 15 stories were "released".

She criticized that in recent years, the Education Bureau has only concentrated on providing electronic resources for primary and secondary school students. "The Education Bureau has weak IT resources for kindergartens." She hopes to receive government or business funding in the future to update the program and add more functions and scenarios in 2022. Such as controlling the time of using electronic products, doing eye exercises in time, etc. as the theme of the story, calculating rewards, etc.
