The Syrian and Russian ministries of education signed a cooperation agreement in the field of general, vocational and supplementary secondary education “additional” aimed at strengthening friendly relations and close educational ties between the two countries, in an embodiment of the common desire of the two friendly peoples.
The agreement was signed on the Syrian side, Assistant Minister of Education Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Hammad, and on the Russian side, Dmitry Klushko, Deputy Minister of Russian Education. Under the agreement, the two sides will work to develop direct communication between Russia and Syria's vocational educational institutes and provide the necessary information and support to facilitate this cooperation. General, vocational and additional education for children in the two countries.
In a statement to reporters after the signing of the agreement, the Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa, confirmed that the agreement contributes to meeting the requirements of the educational process and exchanging visits so that the new generation will be able to understand the close Syrian-Russian relations, in appreciation of the efforts made by the Russian Federation during the past years to contribute to restoring security and stability to Syria.
For his part, Dmitry Klushko indicated that Russia will help Syria by building new schools and rehabilitating the destroyed ones due to terrorism to accommodate more students and conduct training courses in Russia to teach teachers and administrators the Russian language, indicating that there are about 50 thousand students learning the Russian language, but there are only 200 teachers. This language in Syria is a small number, and we are working to increase it and prepare a new advanced curriculum for teaching the Russian language in cooperation with the Syrian Ministry of Education.
