A person's thoughts control him and greatly influence his behaviors.
Every day, about 60,000 thoughts come to a person, most of them negative - fears, anxieties and evil.
Is there a simple method to deal with those thoughts and how can they be navigated positively?
Rebbe Rabbi Josiah Pinto has a solution: to set up a bank of positive thoughts. In a
lesson given by Rebbe Pinto to his students, he said: "One should think holy thoughts. Make a bank and treasure of thoughts, that every time bad thoughts arise - it will be possible to get out of the bank Good thought and a different imagination, thus silencing the evil instinct. "
Rabbi Pinto explained: "There are 60,000 thoughts a day and they run, thoughts of nonsense, worry, fear. Most thoughts are negative. How do we control 60,000 thoughts? Each of us will make a bank of holy thoughts, stories from the Torah about Rabbi Akiva, about Rabbi Yehoshua, about King David, on Moshe Rabbeinu, on the Tzaddiks, on the Hasidim and on the Tannaim. "
"And whenever there is a thought of fear, of an evil inclination, of a devil - the person will pull out a good thought. A plan and menu should be made of how to respond to the thoughts of the evil instinct, in different forms and at times when he comes to you, how to answer him "Answer him with a story from the Gemara."
