- The construction work for the new footpath and bike path between the parking lot at the sports arena on Utzweg and Postweg has started.
A piece of the hedge at the parking lot has already been removed and excavation work has already started in the adjacent field.
The municipality assumes that the two and a half meter wide connecting path with a water-bound path surface, but without lighting, will be completed in the course of December.
The holiday committee decided in August this year to build the connection between Postweg and the sports arena in order to straighten out the traffic around the sports arena.
In the past, there was a significant traffic load at the sports arena after major events.
The traffic can barely flow away from the parking lot of the sports facility.
This also leads to disabilities for pedestrians and cyclists.
Because the Utzweg at the sports arena is relatively narrow, but also leads to the nearby elementary school and high school.
In the town hall, it is hoped that some pedestrians and cyclists will use the new connection and thus relieve the Utzweg.
In addition, the new route can also be used by pupils who cycle to the grammar school from the direction of Taufkirchen or who are on their way from Unterhaching to the secondary school in Taufkirchen.
Due to the renovation of the sports hall at the grammar school, the school administration has blocked a section of the cycle and footpath that runs east of the railway line and that the students have used so far for over a year.
With the new connector, the students then have to drive a simple detour.
