On the sidelines of the international conference on the return of refugees currently being held in Syria, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and the Russian Ministry of Construction and Services signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation, exchange information, experiences and research results related to the tasks and capabilities of the two parties in the fields of public works and housing.
The memorandum, signed on the Syrian side by the Assistant Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Rama Zahir, and on the Russian side, the Assistant Minister of Construction and Russian Services Nikita Stasishin, included the exchange of information and experiences regarding prefabricated construction techniques and standardized building systems, in addition to the implementation and maintenance strategies of public construction and the provision of facilities for the use and application of results. The most effective in city planning information systems and housing planning and construction strategies for people with low incomes in order to support the various types of housing aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens and improving the quality of housing products.
According to the memorandum, the Syrian and Russian sides will work to develop communication and cooperation in technical studies, engineering consultations, contracting and international tenders, and to develop technical and informational cooperation between them.
In addition, a Russian delegation visited the port of Latakia today, as part of the activities of the second and last day of the international conference on the return of Syrian refugees held in Damascus.
The delegation headed by Takenko, Deputy Russian Minister of Transport, Yevgeny Ivanovich, was briefed on the mechanisms of work in the port of Latakia and the passenger terminal.
