The Legion of Honor highlights its exceptional places

In some 600 pages and 500 photographs, a beautiful book covers the palaces and houses owned by this institution.


The French know the Legion of Honor through the major annual promotions, the cross, and the famous red or blue ribbons that the recipients then proudly display.

But do they know that behind this republican tradition hide several exceptional places?

In a very beautiful 640-page book, prefaced by the President of the Republic, eight authors and a photographer recount the heritage of the Legion of Honor.

It took two years for the publisher to come up with this heavy object, printed in 3,500 copies, and almost as long for David Bordes to complete his magnificent campaign of photographs, 525 in total.

The latter takes us brilliantly to the heart of the Hôtel de Salm, located opposite the Orsay Museum, but also to the Education Houses of the Lodges and Saint-Denis, respectively the former convent in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. , and former royal abbey of Saint-Denis.
