The camping shop in Bad Tölz is an institution.
Nevertheless, the family has now decided to give up the business.
Bad Tölz -
Owner Roland Grasberger describes his shop on Königsdorfer Straße as a “mom and pop camping shop”.
Anyone who knows the store can confirm this: Basically there is nothing that is not available for the outdoor fan.
But not for long: the clearance sale will run until the end of November, "Camping Grasberger" is closing.
The shop has been in Bad Tölz since 1979.
“My father started with it, initially the shop was on Lenggrieser Strasse, where 'Vitalia' is today,” says Roland Grasberger.
Then the shop moved to Kolpingstrasse.
“The camping shop was the only one in a 50-kilometer radius.” After his father's death, Roland Grasberger and his mother went into the business and moved to the current location on Königsdorfer Straße.
At "Camping Grasberger" you could not only buy everything a camping heart desires.
There was also a workshop for service measures such as gas testing on mobile homes.
“That was always part of the store,” said Grasberger.
People would have appreciated the service.
Nevertheless: "Despite the camping boom, we are giving up because it is difficult to survive these days against the Internet as a small shop without vehicle sales and vehicle repair shops." The mother is now retired and has earned her retirement.
“It was in the shop every day.” Another reason to give up the business is that camping has changed.
There are now a lot of "technical bells and whistles".
He cannot continue the business alone, it is not worthwhile on a smaller scale.
The 40-year-old is now facing a new direction.
“I will stay loyal to the camping industry.” However, he could rather imagine continuing to work as an employee.
Because so far he has worked 14, 15 hours a day in the summer.
“The whole thing is seasonal.
You have to earn enough in the summer to get through the winter. ”As a family man, that was no longer an alternative for him in the long run.
