Phil Mickelson finished his first lap with a frustrating bogey, but his disappointment was short lived.

After completing his first lap, he followed up with the second by making a birdie out of 10 to return to three shots from the head, four shots from the leaders.

The South Korean offers himself a new birdie on 13 (par 5), his fifth birdie on the last seven holes.

The rookie goes to - 6 total at a stroke of the leading duo.

Two more birdies will allow him to equal the record for a rookie Masters set by Mike Donald in 1990.

After a season marred by injuries, Brooks Koepka seemed close to his best before this Masters after his 5th place in Houston.

But for now, the American is in retreat.

In the 15th (par 5), the second of the last Masters came out of his torpor with an eagle which allowed him to return to the par total.

After a horrible quick hook on the start of 13 (par 5), Rory McIlroy found his ball in the middle of the forest and dropped with a penalty to refocus ... In the end, a bogey and a total score of +1 after 13 holes .. This catastrophic throw-in reminded that of 2011 on hole 10, which had made him lose all hope of winning his first Masters.
