With the majority decision of the main committee, the parliamentary groups followed the town hall's urging on Wednesday to agree on a selection of future tenants.
Mayor Christoph Böck (SPD) prevailed with his favorite: he expects the greatest effects “to preserve the district street as an important shopping street” from retailers.
The city, as the owner of the site, would give priority to a grocery store.
The final decision is made by the city council.
Drug store was also an option
A sales consultant had also certified a drugstore à la “Rossmann” with halfway good prospects - even with advantages over a supermarket.
But that has meanwhile been deviated from.
After weighing up the advantages and disadvantages, Böck sees a tenant from the food industry at the top of the list of priorities.
According to the current state of planning, the grocery store would occupy the lion's share of the space with 940 square meters.
Much more is not possible because the majority of the parliamentary groups would be reluctant to do without the senior support center that is also planned.
Since the social committee meeting in October, the city has been planning to have around 20 senior citizen apartments on the first floor of the new building.
As a meeting place, the senior citizens' monastery on the ground floor offers residents a welcome opportunity to continue to participate in social life, said Annegret Harms (SPD).
"They know how critical they are in their claims."
The city was in dire straits at the beginning of the year when only one of 28 retail companies surveyed expressed interest.
940 square meters seem to a grocer at the location, which Böck also describes as second-rate, in view of the close competition.
CSU spokesman Stefan Krimmer would have liked to persuade the mayor to go even further towards the retail sector.
“They know how critical they are in their claims.” Café, senior support center - everything is great and desirable, said Krimmer.
However, the areas should be allocated with care.
Krimmer therefore places retail at number one on the list of priorities, “a high frequency generator”.
Without a senior citizens' base, you could advertise the location with 1000 square meters and more.

Jürgen Radtke (Greens) easily trusts a world shop to enrich the location as a “frequency generator”.
In second place on the list, the Greens also put a senior citizen pen.

On the other hand, she finds it regrettable that “in the Fairtrade town of Unterschleißheim, of all things, the world shop falls under the table”.
