History converges with art and creativity in the second plastic exhibition of the Ornina Forum for Culture, which was hosted by the halls of the archaeological Zahrawi Palace in the middle of old Homs.

The exhibition, which formed a starting point for the activities of the Ornina Cultural Festival, was attended by 18 male and female artists, as well as young artists whose works were distinguished in terms of subjects and method of drawing and intersected upon the return of life and the anticipation of hope.

Raymond Capron, director of the Ornina forum, explained in a cultural interview with Sana that the exhibition's 64 paintings were dominated by realistic expressionism with the introduction of new methods in a three-dimensional way and others using the combination of the environment, which gave it more beauty, creativity and distinction, pointing out that the forum aims to bring together the creative destinations between veteran artists and talents Young lady and meeting beauty.

Eng. Ahmed Akash, Director of Tourism in Homs, said that what distinguishes the exhibition is the beauty of the archaeological place that it included, and it formed a magnet for the public, especially since Al-Zahrawi Palace is one of the important monuments in the city.

The artist, Muhammad Salman, the supervisor of the exhibition, explained that the idea of ​​holding the event in the palace is to restore glory to this place, which is currently being restored after the destruction it suffered as a result of the terrorist war and making it a cultural, intellectual and social polarization point.

The plastic artist Ahmed Rahal pointed out that the four paintings that he participated in were among the manifestations of the archaeological site, expressing his happiness with his participation in the exhibition and the beautiful impression he had on visitors, while the plastic artist, Rima Atallah, who participated in the two paintings, described the exhibition as distinguished because it is It encourages emerging artists and provides an opportunity to learn about the experiences of other artists, especially those who followed the 3D method of drawing.

The plastic artist, Mazen Mansour, who participated in 5 paintings from the Impressionist Realist School, expressed his optimism about the activities held by the Ornina Forum, which contribute to the return of cultural life to the city. The plastic artist, Farid Zakhour, also shared two paintings, the first bearing the human character and the second surreal symbolizing the rise of Syria like the phoenix while I spoke Artist Salam Al-Ahmad, for her participation in 3 paintings, in which she adopted the expressive method by drawing people and their emotional states and in drawing nature as a reflection of man.

Fine artist Randa Bouchi, who participated in the exhibition with two paintings about old Aleppo, depicting the effects of destruction and the return of life to it again, expressed her happiness to participate in the exhibition and its place that suggests the Syrian heritage, while the young artist, Aya Zafour, 22, who participated in 3 paintings that tells about the female, her beauty and feelings in pencil And coal that the exhibition is an opportunity to highlight the talents of young people and to learn about the experiences of great artists.

Within the activities of the four-day festival, an archaeological heritage symposium entitled “Architecture in Heritage Buildings in Homs” was held by Dr. Abdul-Masih Al-Ashi, a member of the faculty at the Faculty of Architecture at Al-Baath University, in the Sami Al-Droubi Hall in Homs Culture.

Al-Ashi elaborated on explaining the meaning of heritage, its concepts and its importance through the ages and its necessity to define the specificity of the culture among peoples and achieve the unity of their societies and their human and intellectual features, reviewing the causes of the deterioration of the architectural and urban heritage in Arab cities, such as the lack of archaeological awareness among people and the surrounding environment and the weakness of the management of the authorities responsible for this sector.

Al-Ashi believed that the lack of reliance on heritage and the drift behind what the machine produces has led to cities losing their character, identity and cultural continuity and the tyranny of so-called international architecture, stressing that the success of the reconstruction process is linked to saving and studying our ancient historical heritage because it is an inexhaustible source and it is necessary to return and seek the help of architecture in our heritage.
