Three people were taken into police custody Thursday, November 12 at Orly airport after presenting false death certificates when boarding a flight to Guyana, AFP learned from an airport source.
Two Spaniards, aged 57 and 56 and a 34-year-old Surinamese, leaving for Cayenne (Guyana) were arrested and taken into custody for "
possession and use of false administrative documents
," said an airport source.

This is the first time that false documents have been detected to overcome the rules of confinement
" on departures from Paris airports of Orly and Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle, according to this source.
Already in early November, seven people were arrested in connection with the dismantling of a traffic in false certificates of negative Covid-19 tests, which they illegally sold to travelers at Roissy airport.
The alleged forgers, six men and a woman aged 29 to 52, are "
prosecuted for forgery, use of forgery and complicity in fraud
".
On Tuesday, the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin asked the prefects to strengthen containment controls, especially in stations and airports.
Since the new re-containment measures, air travel is authorized for “
pressing family reasons
” or for “
professional reasons
”.
