The incident of "closing the gate and closing the village" in Shaluowan Village, Dongao Ancient Road, Lantau Island, has continued. In response to enquiries, the Lands Department stated that the Outlying Islands Lands Office had received a referral from the 1823 government hotline to the public for assistance regarding the incident.
After inspection by the Lands Administration Office, it was confirmed that two newly built iron gates occupied government land.
In accordance with the Land (Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance, Chapter 28 of the Laws of Hong Kong, the prescription posted a notice on the spot, ordering the occupier to stop occupying the relevant government land before the deadline, otherwise further land control actions will be taken.
