The Guadeloupe actor had been wanted for a worrying disappearance for a year. He "according to all assumptions" committed suicide in July 2019, the Reims prosecutor's office said on Friday.

Comedian Djédjé Apali, whom the police were looking for for a disturbing disappearance, "according to all assumptions" committed suicide in July 2019, the Reims prosecutor's office said on Friday after recent dental comparisons made it possible to "formally" identify the body.

According to a press release from the prosecution, the Reims police station was informed on July 13, 2020 of the disappearance of the actor, born in 1975 and known in particular for his role in Jean-Claude Barny's Gang of the West Indies in 2016.

According to his mother, the actor, living in Reims, had not given any news since December 2019.

Neither the investigation for worrying disappearance, nor the call for witnesses made it possible to find him, "despite numerous investigations (telephone, search, bank accounts ...)", noted the prosecution.

But the investigators found, "by cross-checking", "a file of violent death which had taken place in the station of Bezannes (Marne), on July 12, 2019, where a person had obviously thrown under a train and could not to be identified since then. "

“An odontological expertise was carried out a few days ago which, after comparing the dental file of Mr. Apali and the dental findings made on the corpse in July 2019, formally allowed the expert to indicate that the body found was indeed that of Mr. Djédjé Apali ”, continues the prosecution.

The investigation continues in search of the causes of death, "in particular to carry out the final formal verifications to confirm the circumstances (of his) death, according to any hypothesis by suicide".
