Police today (Friday) allowed the parents of the baby from the south detained on suspicion of abusing him, to visit him at the hospital.

The four-month-old baby has been hospitalized at Barzilai Hospital since Tuesday in a critical condition.

The police decided to approve the visit at the end of a situation assessment led by the commander of the Lachish area, regarding progress in the parents' interrogation.

During the day the police brought the father from the detention facility to the hospital, where they allowed him to meet with the doctors and visit his son.

The mother then also met with the son, after receiving a review from the doctors regarding his condition.

At the end of the visit she was returned to custody.

The Ashkelon Magistrate's Court recently extended the two men's detention, on suspicion of acts.

During the hearings it was reported that the baby was suffering from rib fractures caused a few days ago, hand fractures, and a head injury.

He is in critical condition and is hospitalized in the pediatric intensive care unit.

The two were arrested Tuesday morning after the father evacuated the baby to the hospital in critical condition.

According to the testimony of the director of intensive care, the toddler arrived at the hospital unconscious and had a low pulse, and when he started feminizing the minor, he noticed that there were signs of bruising on the toddler's head and hemorrhages.

The doctor further testified that the marks on the toddler's body appeared to have occurred in recent days.

The doctor clarified that at this stage it is not possible to determine with certainty the source of the injury in the abuse, but it cannot be ruled out.

The father said during his interrogation that he fed his son, then laid him on his stomach and left the room.

Later he heard choking noises, and found the baby vomiting and pale.

He claims that at this point he ordered an ambulance, which evacuated the four-month-old to Barzilai Hospital suffering from a severe head injury.

During the interrogation, the father denied harming or abusing his son.
