The assassination of Abdullah Ahmad Abdullah, number 2 in the extremist Sunni terrorist organization al-Qaeda, on Shiite Iranian soil, is further conclusive evidence that Iran, led by the Islamic Revolutionary regime, has become a strategic security threat to the United States.

Any U.S. administration that takes office on Jan. 20 will have to treat Iran as a strategic threat and address it with the requisite rigidity, such as that imposed by the Trump administration.

Any conciliatory turn towards Tehran will be disastrous.

Not just to the Middle East, but to the United States itself.

The presence of a senior al-Qaeda figure and his daughter, who was also the wife of the son of the founder of this terrorist organization, Osama bin Laden, in Iran, was no coincidence.

Although the powerful pro-Iranian lobby in Washington and European capitals is widely disseminating a false representation of Iran as a "defensive wall against extremist Sunni terrorism," relying primarily on centuries-old fighting between Sunnis and Shiites, in retrospect there is close cooperation between the Islamist regime and the Shiite organization Sunni Islamist terrorism based on the tactical conception of "an enemy enemy is an ally".

It is also the foundation for Iran's ties with Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the PA territories, and also the foundation for the alliance between Tehran and Turkey controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood: the deep hatred of the United States.

And this hatred does not depend on the party identity of the person sitting in the White House.

Nor in his willingness to please the ayatollahs' regime of terror.

This is also evidenced by the recent campaign of Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif in the socialist dictatorships in Latin America.

While the United States is having a heated internal debate over the outcome of the presidential election, Zarif paid a visit to Venezuela, Cuba and Bolivia, which are at the doorstep of the United States.

Zarif discusses with Venezuela's dictator, Maduro, tightening military cooperation between the two countries, a fact that should be seen in Washington as a war move.

After all, these are two countries rich in natural resources against which the Trump administration has waged an intense economic war by imposing extremely heavy sanctions.

The totalitarian and corrupt regimes in Caracas and Tehran have reached the brink of collapse under the heavy weight of American sanctions.

Fear of chaos in Venezuela and Iran, if and when these regimes collapse, should not lead to a change in policy and the adoption of the facilitation, but to the continuation of the sprouting approach of the current administration.

It has so far prevented military clashes, and it is more likely to bring about the desired political changes.

For years, American, mostly democratic, governments have ignored the Iranian settlement in South and Central America.

It has spread rapidly, relying mainly - but not exclusively - on Hezbollah infrastructure in the large Lebanese immigrant communities in almost all countries to the south of the United States - from Mexico to Argentina. Cooperation between Iranian arms and organized crime and drug lords has long been a source of peace, security And stability in this part of the world. Now, all that is left is to add to that a nuclear threat.

According to the latest reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran has blatantly violated and violated the international nuclear agreement, from which the United States withdrew two years ago. There is no doubt that Iran is continuing its nuclear and ballistic armament program. Achieving Iran's nuclear capability will not only change Iran The forces in the Middle East, but also in America.

Iran could enlist the help of allies in Caracas, Havana and elsewhere to directly threaten the United States. This is a threat that Washington cannot come to terms with.
