Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami affirmed that had it not been for the steadfastness of the Syrian and Iraqi people, their armed forces and their governments in the face of criminal aggressors and terrorists, the region would have been in an unknown and dangerous situation.
"The behavior of the great powers, led by America, proved that they have long-term plans to destabilize the region ... and as long as foreign powers are present and intervene, achieving stability and peace will not be available," Hatami said upon his meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Jumah Inad al-Jubouri today in Tehran.
Hatami indicated that the Ministry of Defense in Iran, with its capabilities and large infrastructure that came under the unjust embargo, is ready to meet the needs of the Iraqi armed forces to enhance their defense capabilities, pointing out that there is distinguished cooperation between Iran and Iraq in terms of establishing security in the region and combating terrorism.
In turn, the Iraqi Minister of Defense announced that the aim of the visit is to strengthen and strengthen relations between the two countries, adding, "We seek, in light of bilateral exchanges between Iran and Iraq, to enhance the capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces to fight terrorism, whose roots are still active in the region and eliminate it, and we will spare no effort until it is completely destroyed." .
