Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro strongly denounced the European Union’s decision to renew the imposition of sanctions on his country, stressing that the decision indicates that the bloc will continue to follow the instructions of the US government.

In a statement carried by the Telesur channel that broadcasts from Caracas, Maduro said that the European Union holds the tail of US President Donald Trump and automatically continues his “cruel, fossilized and failed policy against Venezuela”, expressing his rejection of the new European decision, which indicates the European Union assuming a “terrible and sad role against the Venezuelan people.” By continuing to support the blockade against the Venezuelan people and extend its illegal sanctions against it.

On the other hand, Maduro stressed that the US authorities are promoting an international campaign against his government, expressing his condemnation of the economic and financial sanctions imposed by the Trump administration against his country, including those imposed on the oil company, "Petroleos de Venezuela."

Venezuela is being exposed to American and Western interference in its internal affairs aimed at destabilizing it, in a desperate attempt by Washington to revive its plans to dominate this country that has huge oil wealth and to turn against its legitimate president, Nicolas Maduro, using all means, including violence, chaos and the imposition of sanctions.
