More than three missiles fell on the Eritrean capital, Asmara, from Ethiopia, in a major escalation of the conflict that began 11 days ago between the Ethiopian federal forces and local forces in the northern Eritrean Tigray region.
Reuters quoted five regional diplomats as saying in statements that at least three missiles were fired at the Eritrean capital from Ethiopia today, two of them hit Asmara airport.
While the initial reports did not indicate the extent of the damage due to that escalation due to the disruption of most of the communications in Tigray, no official statements were issued immediately by officials from both sides regarding it.
