The Federal Agency for Food Security in Belgium announced today an outbreak of bird flu in the country, after it spread to Western Europe.
The French newspaper Le Monde quoted the agency as saying, "The authorities imposed a ban on all birds and poultry farmers after the outbreak of the epidemic and its spread in Western Europe."
Yesterday, Belgium tested three birds in the north of the country, and the result was positive.
It is noteworthy that France decided this month to take precautionary measures by using protection nets due to the severity of bird flu and the possibility of its severe transmission to humans.
