Tunisia and Libya decided to open the borders today after a seven-month closure due to the outbreak of the Corona virus.
"Agence France-Presse" quoted a Tunisian diplomatic source as saying that about 20 thousand Tunisians are in Libya, while flights between the two countries are expected to resume tomorrow.
The closure had a negative impact on an active trade exchange between the two sides and hindered the movement of many Tunisian workers working in Libya at a time when a segment of Libyans visited Tunisia regularly.
The decision to open the borders follows the agreement on a joint health protocol between the two sides at the end of last October.
The borders were closed at the end of March as part of the measures taken to limit the spread of the new Corona virus.
