Western intelligence sources this evening (Saturday) revealed new details about the assassination of a senior al-Qaeda operative Abu Muhammad al-Masri, who according to a report in the New York Times took place last August in Tehran.
According to sources, this is an initiative of the United States, when the Mossad headed by Yossi Cohen tightened the coverage around al-Masri in the past year, and as time went on it became clear that al-Qaeda also began planning attacks against Israel, with Iranian guidance.
According to intelligence sources, al-Qaeda operates freely outside of Iran because it has no control over the country and has become a "household" in recent years.
The families of senior al-Qaeda operatives have been brought to the country in the wake of the operatives, with clear sponsorship from Iran.
Al-Masri's assassination prevented murderous attacks against the citizens of the United States and also against the citizens of the State of Israel.
