The Movement for Governance and Democracy today (Sunday) asked Justice Minister Avi Nissenkorn, Attorney General Dr. Avichai Mandelblit and Civil Service Commissioner Prof. Daniel Hershkovitz to suspend Adv. Dina Zilber from her position as Deputy Attorney General and to take disciplinary action against her.

The call comes against the backdrop of the harsh remarks she made at a hearing at the Israel Democracy Institute yesterday: she implicitly attacked Prime Minister Netanyahu without mentioning his name using the nickname "Pike Leader", spoke of "lack of leadership" and criticized "dozens of senior appointments frozen" .

The movement noted in its application that Adv. Zilber's remarks were made in violation of the provisions of the Civil Service Regulations and that this is not the first time that she has deviated from the provisions.

According to the movement, "In Zilber's remarks, there is clear criticism of the prime minister, government ministers and their policies, and of Knesset members - elected officials, who promote governance in Israel. And so the Supreme Court ruled. "

The movement mentioned that Zilber was reprimanded for what she said in 2018 in the Knesset Education Committee's deliberations when she criticized a government bill.

Also, "Even earlier, on two different occasions, Attorney Zilber said things that a public employee is prevented from saying."

The movement's director of operations, Daniel (Danny), said: "It is known that Adv. Zilber is at the end of her term (she is due to end her position on December 9 - 11), but given her senior status and note that this is repetitive behavior, she can not be restrained. Her words must be suspended immediately. "

Advocate Simcha Rotman, the movement's legal counsel, said: "The Civil Service Law and the Civil Service Regulations are very clear.

"Their violation by such a senior state employee in the Ministry of Justice sends a message of contempt for the law - and this should not be tolerated."
