It's just a small sticker, but it conveys a big message: “One time without, please” is written on it.

The aim of this label is to avoid packaging waste when shopping.

Langenpreising / District - The Langenpreising initiative "unfair garbage" is the ambassador of the project of a Munich association and now reports in a press release that 16 shops in the Langenpreising area have already joined.

Around 600 companies are currently taking part nationwide.

In the shops and bars it is made visible that customers can purchase baked goods, cheese, sausage and other food without the product's own packaging.

The focus of the project is on said sticker that sticks to counters and shop windows.

“The purchase can be filled into containers brought along, provided the applicable hygienic regulations are observed.

Nothing stands in the way of packaging-free, resource-saving shopping or take-away, ”explains Lisa Gadenne-Wurzbacher from the initiative, unfairly trashed.

Who does not know that?

You woke up too late and didn't think about breakfast.

So quickly get a coffee to go and wrap a roll in paper.

“What seems to be harmless in the morning, accumulates in the course of the day a large amount of packaging waste.

Day after day, week after week, household after household, ”warns Wurzbacher.

She refers to the figures recently published by the Federal Environment Agency on the amount of waste in 2018. These are "alarming".

Since the beginning of the year, unfair garbage has been the ambassador of the project and has since been able to win over 16 shops and restaurants.

In Germany, an average of 227.5 kilograms of packaging waste was generated per capita in 2018, of which, according to the Environment Agency, 47 percent was caused by private end consumers.

The increase in the private sector compared to 2010 amounts to a “shocking 20.6 percent”, so unfairly garbage - and the trend is rising.

Wurzbacher is all the more pleased with the latest advances: “It is nice to see that more than a dozen companies in the region have already subscribed to the 'once without' please 'idea." The movement should continue to grow, "so With the help of the visible stickers, more and more customers can be sure that they are welcome with their wish for garbage-free shopping. ”If you are interested, send an email to erding@einmalohnebitte.de.

The non-profit Munich association rehab republic eV started the sticker project.
