Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia determined this Monday the closure of air operations at the Gustavo Rojas Pinilla airport in San Andrés, due to the difficult weather conditions that put the safety of travelers at risk.
In a statement, they indicated that the forecasts indicate that Iota will continue to strengthen, even affecting the island of San Andrés.
On the other hand, personnel from the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) are in San Andrés to coordinate actions with the territorial entities of the National Disaster Risk Management System (SNGRD) in front of the Iota pass.
The Archipelago Government of San Andrés Providencia and Santa Catalina decreed a curfew in which the movement of people in said territory is prohibited from Sunday, November 15 at 3:00 in the afternoon until Tuesday, November 17 at 5 : 00 in the morning.
All nautical activities and use of the beaches are prohibited for the inhabitants of the islands, due to the increase in the height of the waves.
