Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) drew up an interim assessment of the partial lockdown with the Prime Minister of the federal states and discussed how to proceed.

She once again appealed to the population to keep the contacts to a minimum: "Any contact that does not take place is good for fighting the pandemic," said Merkel.

However, no decision was made at the meeting.

Merkel announced that the federal and state governments are using cheap FFP2 masks to protect particularly vulnerable people from being infected with the corona virus.

People over 65 and people with certain pre-existing conditions should be able to get a total of 15 of these masks for a small contribution.

The federal government assumes the costs.

Merkel's next consultations with the prime minister will take place next week, on November 25th, Merkel announced.

Then the further Corona timetable should also be discussed until Christmas.
