The Ministry of Education launched the “National Center for Educational Curriculum Development” today, the quarterly electronic Syrian educational magazine, which is concerned with publishing theoretical and applied educational researches related to educational curricula and their applications, monitoring their quality, and measuring their learning outcomes.
The magazine aims at those interested in the educational field to direct scientific research for the purposes of developing and evaluating curricula, conducting research on the foundations of their application in various local communities, conducting research related to the development of the educational process within the Syrian environment and modeling educational work to benefit from it in future applications in addition to conducting research related to the promotion of issues of belonging and citizenship. In the educational curricula, monitoring the reality of the educational process within reference research, and linking scientific research to the needs of the community in the educational and professional field.
According to Dr. Nadia Al-Ghazouli, Editor-in-Chief, the magazine's publishing axes focus on educational scientific research that relates to the Syrian educational curricula and the associated comparative processes in various fields, research in psychology, and university theses (masters and doctoral degrees) related to educational curricula and a reference study for research related to educational methods or techniques. Al-Ghazouli indicated that the publishing rules in the magazine include quality in ideas, style, methodology, scientific documentation, and the contribution to the development of educational thought and its applications locally, regionally and internationally, explaining that the magazine serves teachers in the educational sector in addition to graduate students.
In his turn, Director General of the Higher Commission for Scientific Research, Dr. Majd Al-Jamali explained that the research that will be published in the journal will meet the different needs of society to develop the culture of scientific research among the student and understand the phenomena around him, while Dr. Zeinab Ziyoud, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Damascus confirmed that the idea of the journal encourages scientific research, specifically that it is free. No fees are charged.
Dr. Fida Sudan, editor-in-chief of the journal pointed out that all research that will be submitted to the journal's website is accepted electronically, and then these researches are sent to the members of the advisory body, which are three arbitrators who are accredited according to the relevance of the research to their scientific specialization, and then the research is sent to the journal after being judged within a period of time. A maximum of 20 days, after which the judges decide whether this paper is suitable for publication.
