Yaakov Litzman will be reappointed Minister of Construction and Housing, it was agreed today (Monday) between him and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The surprising announcement comes about two months after an exclusive interview that Litzman gave to "Israel Today" following his resignation from the government in protest of the holiday closure, in which he pledged: "I will not be a minister in the State of Israel again."
In the interview, Litzman shared the events that led to his decision to resign from the Netanyahu government during the Corona crisis.
"At the Corona Cabinet meeting, Aryeh Deri and Roni Noma reached an agreement on an outline for opening synagogues on holidays. There were all the rules - how many people could come by the size of a synagogue, by classifying a city as red or orange, and that was fine. We went for an hour and a half break. .
"When we went in, I brought it up for discussion, to make sure there was agreement on it and that it was final. Then Roni Gamzo, at the height of his impudence, said the synagogues would be open, but during the closure all cities across the country automatically become red cities. I shouted at him that he was a liar. "Otherwise he's changing his mind now. At that moment I called my assistant, I told him 'prepare a letter of resignation for me', thank you and goodbye."
