The attempt to distract oneself was in vain.
Instead of working as he had planned,
Stéphane Bancel switched
(48) constantly back and forth between cell phone and e-mail account.
It is Sunday morning, November 15th.
And while the CEO of the US biotech Moderna tries in vain to get his nerves under control, specialists from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda (Maryland) are evaluating the data that they had recently received from Bancels people.
It's about mRNA-1273, the vaccine candidate that the company, which has barely outgrown the start-up phase, has developed in the past few months together with the state NIH against Covid 19.

Of the more than 30,000 subjects in his study, 95 had been infected with Covid 19 by the end of last week.
Only five of them had actually been given the serum, the other 90 had been injected with a placebo - with which Moderna comes to an efficiency of almost 95 percent and is thus even better than the competition.
“This is extremely good news,” says
Anthony Fauci
(79), Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and thus the top pandemic fighter in the USA: “I had always thought that a vaccine with such a high level of effectiveness could be possible , but I didn't count on it. "
