Less than a year after the tenure of Michael Luboszcz as CEO of the Bitan Wines Group, Luboszic launches a new sub-chain called "Mega Market".

Pavilion Wines refused to comment on the matter, but according to people close to the company, this is a chain whose format is a huge market of stalls with a common box office.

The sign on the first branch, which will probably open next month in Raanana, reads "The largest mega-market in savings."

This is a very large branch that has been renovated and upgraded.

Originally, this branch, which had previously been a branch of Bitan Wines, was to be sold to the Yochananoff chain, but this deal did not materialize in the end.

It should be noted that about five years ago Pavilion Wines launched branches in a market concept, even before it acquired Mega in the summer of 2016.

The first market store she opened was in Rehovot, and then she opened another branch in Kiryat Ata.

This concept included several branches, but was defined as a business failure.

The first branch covered 5,000 square meters and was designed in an indoor market style, with various stalls, salesmen who weighed the products and payment was made at the main cash registers. The branch included fruit and vegetable stalls, fish and fresh meat departments, a bakery, and more. Israel Today "last Thursday said that" during the crisis there was a growth of 30% -20% in the amount of the shopping basket, which indicates the desire to reduce the stay in supermarkets. "

He expressed confidence in having large grocery stores - more so than in the viability of huge investments in online sales.

No response was received from the Pavilion Wines Group.
