At the end of May, SpaceX successfully sent
two US astronauts
on a
two-month mission
to the
ISS
for
the first time
.
´Now the first routine flight of a
Falcon 9 rocket
with the “
Crew Dragon” capsule
started on Sunday evening (November 15th) local time

SpaceX rocket: successful launch!
First manned routine flight en route to the ISS
Update from November 16, 4:01 a.m.:
On Sunday evening local time, Elon Musk's vision into space started one day late.
The passenger spaceship
“Crew Dragon”
was
heaved towards the ISS
by the powerful “
Falcon 9”
rocket.
The launch took place from the legendary Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Everything went well, announced NASA on Monday night (CET).
The flight of the capsule "Crew Dragon" should take a little more than 27 hours.
It is only the second launch of a manned
SpaceX rocket by
the entrepreneur
Elon Musk
- and the first manned private
routine flight
into
space
.
Resilience rises.

SpaceX rocket en route to the ISS - mission already a success
On board the "Crew Dragon" are three NASA astronauts Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover and Shannon Walker as well as the Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi, who are to stay on the space station for six months.
The mission is already a
success
for SpaceX
.
After the launch, the
“
Falcon 9
”
launch vehicle
landed on a floating platform in the sea as planned.
The automated landing allows the missile to be reused in large parts and a lot of money to be saved.
The “
Crew Dragon
” will
reach
the
ISS
in around
23 hours
.
Joe Biden
congratulated shortly after the start.
The start is a testimony to the "power of science" and what "we can achieve if we use our innovative strength, our ingenuity and our determination."
Congratulations to NASA and SpaceX on today's launch.
It's a testament to the power of science and what we can accomplish by harnessing our innovation, ingenuity, and determination.
I join all Americans and the people of Japan in wishing the astronauts Godspeed on their journey.

Later on,
US President Donald Trump
also tweeted
, but not without praising himself.
When he was elected four years ago, NASA was quite a mess, but now it is again the "hottest" space center in the world.
A great launch!
@NASA was a closed up disaster when we took over.
Now it is again the “hottest”, most advanced, space center in the world, by far!

Update from November 15th, 10:45 pm
: About two and a half hours until the planned start of the "
Crew Dragon
" after it was
postponed
due to the
weather conditions
.
The
Wirtschaftswoche
has previously spoken with Hans König man who for the safety of
SpaceX missions
is responsible.
"Our test flight at the end of May went very well, we learned a lot from it," the newspaper quoted him as saying.
But this time some things are different: “Instead of two
astronauts
, four travel - we need twice as much oxygen, twice as much food and drink.
And we have to dissipate twice as much heat. "
In addition, the
spaceship will
not only
stay in
space
for a few weeks, but six months.
"In a few weeks we are planning another flight with an unmanned
capsule
so that two
dragons can
dock with the ISS at the
same time
- one at the front and one at the top," adds Königsmann.
How successful the astronauts' journey into space was will be shown around eight hours after the
"Dragon Crew" has taken off
.
Then the capsule should dock.
SpaceX rocket: "Crew Dragon" will take off on Monday night

Mission SpaceX - New space era dawns in the USA
In the past few years,
US astronauts have
relied on Russian rockets to get to the
ISS
.
The
NASA
had its space shuttle program due to high costs and after
two accidents
set nine years ago.
The last mission of the space shuttle “Atlantis” ended on July 21, 2011. Since then, Russia has brought US astronauts into space for around 80 million euros per flight.
NASA space shuttles
Atlantis
Endeavor
Discovery
Challenger - crashed - Shortly after takeoff on January 28, 1986, the space shuttle exploded.
All seven crew members were killed.
Columbia - accident - The space shuttle broke apart on February 1, 2003 during its 28th space mission (mission STS-107) when re-entering the earth's atmosphere.
All seven crew members were killed.
SpaceX takes off for the ISS - will the company become the market leader in the USA?
In order to regain independence from
Russia
, the US government under Donald Trump's predecessor Barack Obama commissioned
SpaceX
and the aviation giant Boeing to build space shuttles.
The “Starliner” capsule from Boeing is still in the test phase and, as expected, will not be ready before next year.

For
SpaceX
, the space flight, which
starts
on Saturday, is therefore also an opportunity to position itself as the US market leader in space travel.
At the end of May 2020, the company successfully sent two US astronauts on a two-month mission to the
ISS
for
the first time
.
SpaceX: Historic moment - mission into space to the ISS successful
On May 31, 2020, a US spacecraft docked with the international space station for the first time in nine years.
Millions of people followed the rocket launch live on TV or on the Internet until it docked on the ISS.
During the live recordings from the SpaceX space capsule "Dragon2", a dinosaur flew through the picture.
After two months, the astronauts returned safely to Earth (August 2nd).
Musk celebrated the successful mission as the new era of space flight and space exploration.
