Police today (Monday) released documentation of a 14-year-old minor who was caught driving a vehicle on Road 31 near the Shoket junction in the south of the country yesterday.

At first, the police stopped his vehicle due to serious safety deficiencies, but when they turned to the driver they discovered another problem: the driver looked younger than the legal age of driving.

In the back seat, sat a woman older than him.

The inspection revealed that the driver, a 14-month-old and only eight-month-old resident of the area, was driving his older sister who was sitting in the back.

The boy's older brothers were invited to the place and took responsibility for the moment.

The minor was summoned to a juvenile court and testimony was obtained from his sister who was present with him in the vehicle.

The inspection also revealed that the vehicle had been taken off the road in the past.

He was disabled for 30 days and dragged from the scene to the police storage yard.

According to data from the Traffic Division, since the beginning of the year, 3,099 drivers have been caught against whom driving orders have been registered without ever having a license.

Of these, 256 are minors.

The police said: "We take the incident seriously. The responsibility of adults and parents is negligent and endangers the children. We will continue to work to increase safety and protect the lives of road users while enforcing effective and uncompromising life-threatening offenses."
