The young man suffered serious injuries and had to be rescued from the rough terrain by the Gauting rescue service and fire brigade before he could be flown to a hospital in a rescue helicopter.
23 men from the Gautingen fire brigade were on duty for almost two hours.
The two companions of the victim, two men aged 18 and 31, were not injured.
