The production of the Arida forest nursery in the Tal Kalakh area in the countryside of Homs has reached 250 thousand different forest plantations during the current winter season, and they are ready for distribution to the areas affected by the fires.
Eng. Yousef Shaqouf, director of the nursery, told SANA's correspondent that the nursery is preparing to distribute the plants to the areas that have been exposed to fires during the last period, especially the Nazareth Forestry Project in the Wadi Al-Nadara area in the countryside of Homs, in which the forest wealth was severely damaged during the fires, indicating that the distribution is carried out according to two mechanisms, the first is free of charge and is dedicated to projects The government according to a specific plan and the second is through selling to citizens at a value determined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform.
Shaqouf indicated that the area of the nursery is about 30 dunums and includes various forest plantations, including pine, cypress, eucalyptus, gasoline, laurel and carob, pointing out that a plan for next year is being prepared and includes the production of 125 thousand forest seedlings.
