They got married 63 years ago and spent their entire life together.
And together they died, from Covid-19, on the same day.
Olga and Vincenzo Molino lived in an apartment in Sesto San Giovanni (Milan) and left after an hour, Sunday afternoon: she is 83 and he is 82.
"They didn't go out, they were very cautious, only their grandfather went shopping and to the pharmacy, unfortunately they got sick - says Katia, one of the six grandchildren, who lives in the Bergamo area -.
They had celebrated their 63 years of marriage on 26 September and they were always together. I will carry with me the memory of my grandmother, from Puglia, while she prepared the orecchiette by hand and my grandfather next to her who took them one by one to help her ".
Olga and Vincenzo were hospitalized at San Gerardo di Monza on 11 November, but they had been ill for ten days already, with a very high fever.
"It was the grandfather who showed the first symptoms - says Katia - and then the grandmother.
Despite the high fever, for over a week the doctor never went out to visit them, he gave him an antibiotic saying it was flu and instead it was Covid-19. On the 11th morning he and 86 were saturated with 68, so the uncles called 112 and were taken away together ".
They weren't in the same room but Olga, whose condition was less severe, had asked to be allowed to keep her husband's jacket in the room, to feel him close.
And they were a short distance away: after only 4 days, at 2 pm on Sunday Olga died and an hour later Vincenzo too.
