In the “How are you?” Series, we ask people from the district how they experience the unusual Corona times.

Today: Dietlinde Schoch, operations manager in the Oberland workshops in Geretsried.

Geretsried - If need be, Dietlinde Schoch, operations manager of the Oberland workshops in Geretsried, sometimes changes the costume for the smock to help out in the laundry.

This was necessary in the spring when all employees with disabilities in the workshops were sent home as a result of the corona pandemic.

Nevertheless, obligations and delivery dates had to be met.

Ms. Schoch, the workshops were closed during the lockdown in March.

How did the situation develop?

Dietlinde Schoch:

The current general decree of the Bavarian State Ministry for Health and Care specified to our workshops when, under which framework conditions and which group of people people with disabilities were allowed to work again.

From the middle of April, the entry ban was gradually relaxed, and our working groups, which work in cooperation companies, were allowed to start again.

From May 18, the employees who live at home or on an outpatient basis came back.

And in the course of the following weeks, other employees, for example from the dormitory, were allowed to lend a hand again.

Also people who belong to risk groups?

Dietlinde Schoch:

If necessary, they are employed in their own emergency care without having contact with the other employees with disabilities in order to protect them as best as possible.

The prerequisite for resuming work is that people adhere to the hygiene and distance rules.

At the moment only a few are at home because they do not want to take emergency care.

Which stress do you feel the most?

Dietlinde Schoch:

The order situation has declined noticeably.

People are no longer allowed to hug.

Excursions and celebrations such as the joint Christmas party or honors cannot take place this year.

That definitely has an impact on how we work together.

The people who belong to the risk group miss their colleagues because they are either still at home or in emergency care.

Is it easy to implement the hygiene concept in the workshops?

Dietlinde Schoch:

There is a disinfectant

dispenser

at the entrance, as well as in all work areas and sanitary rooms.

In addition, the workplaces in the working groups were placed at least 1.5 meters apart so that people can go about their work without mouth and nose protection.

When they have to leave their place to go to the toilet or to the changing room, everyone wears the mask.

In the dining room we have a one-way system and have rearranged the tables so that the required distance is maintained everywhere.

Since there is now only a maximum of 25 people, we had to introduce more break times.

As in the restaurant, the tables are disinfected after each guest.

It is impressive how well and in an exemplary manner the people with disabilities adhere to and accept the new rules.

And you, Ms. Schoch?

How are you?

Dietlinde Schoch:

Personally, I am in a rather better situation.

Because we are systemically important, I don't have to worry about my job right now.

I have a garden and in everyday life - except when it comes to my beloved trips - I feel little restricted.

I keep fit with yoga over the Internet, as the studios are currently closed.
