A young man filed a complaint with the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) for violence against him by a policewoman, who hit him with a baton a few days earlier in Asnières (Hauts-de- Seine), his lawyer told AFP on Tuesday, November 17.
The complaint was lodged Monday afternoon with the “
police of the police
” for counts of “
violence with the use or the threat of a weapon by a person having public authority
”, specified Me Thomas Ramonatxo.
The Nanterre public prosecutor's office was not able to immediately confirm the filing of a complaint.

Thursday evening in Asnières, a 21-year-old man was clubbed by a policewoman on duty, a scene filmed and widely relayed on social networks.
The official intervened in the context of a nighttime noise, in a place "
known to harbor the trafficking of narcotics
", the Nanterre prosecutor's office told AFP.
According to a police source, the young man was "
threatening
".
"
He would have advanced towards the policewoman without removing his hands from his pockets despite the latter's injunction, who would then have used his baton to neutralize him,
" also said the prosecution.
Placed in custody for violence against a person holding public authority, the young man, who refused, according to the prosecution, to be examined by a doctor to establish an assessment of total incapacity for work (ITT), has then released without prosecution.

"
The investigations carried out did not make it possible to retain this offense, which led to a dismissal of the proceedings for violence against a person holding public authority,
" said the prosecution.
Proof, according to Me Ramonatxo, that his client did not have a threatening attitude.
"
The video that runs in a loop on social networks does not demonstrate a threatening attitude: he does not run towards the police, he walks, he does not raise an arm,
" he also noted.
His client also disputes being linked to the noise at night, for which the police intervened.
"
What he explains is that he had gone to see his girlfriend, and he had to go home,
" his advice said.
