How the "generation Corona" gets through the pandemic months

My seven year old son writes pandemic reports. And the two-year-old pulls his sweater over his nose and plays a face mask. Should I be worried now?

The other day I thought of that famous Jack Nicholson movie, "Shining".

A horror film.

In it, Nicholson plays a writer who is stuck with his family in a snow-covered hotel.

He wants to write a play there, on his typewriter.

At some point, in the loneliness of the house, he goes mad.

When his wife wanted to check what he was writing, she found a fully typed sheet of paper in the machine with a single sentence on it: "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"

My son is seven years old and also owns a typewriter, a Japanese model from the 1960s in baby blue.

He was also stuck longer in the spring.

In his own home.

He was not allowed to go to the playground, not to his friends, not even to visit his grandma.

Now that we're experiencing the second lockdown, I thought I'll see what he's typing on his typewriter.

Most of the time, the papers are about detective stuff or drinks cards for the café he runs in the children's room.

But in the last few weeks, as the infection progresses, the pieces of paper that I pull out of the machine have actually become stranger.
