The citizens' initiative (BI) Livable Germering continues to fight against what they consider to be too dense buildings in the Kreuzlinger Feld.

Germering

- Recently representatives of the BI handed over lists with 1400 signatures to Mayor Andreas Haas to underline their demands.

They have now made their objections of around 40 pages public.

The tenor of the criticism runs through all the points mentioned: The citizens gathered in the BI do not feel that they are being taken seriously.

Well-founded objections also from associations such as the Bund Naturschutz had been belittled.

BI spokesman Thomas Langnickel even sums up: “It is an investor plan, the burdens of which are borne by today's residents.” City architect Jürgen Thum clearly rejects all of this.

The key point of the project's critics is still the increase in traffic.

The appraisers commissioned by the city had assumed that the population growth was too low and had therefore calculated the expected volume of traffic.

The fact that the planned supermarket in the area also attracts traffic from outside the Kreuzlinger Feld was not taken into account.

City architect Thum points out that, on the contrary, the experts have always been told that they should assume the most extreme population development.

Although, according to the current plans, only around 1400 new residents are expected in the first construction phase and a maximum of 2500 residents after the overall development, the planners were given the number 3000.

The supermarket naturally also played a role in the traffic reports.

Jürgen Thum cannot understand the criticism that the city does not take citizens' concerns about the Kreuzlinger Feld seriously.

Only because of the objections of BI, for example, an originally planned fifth floor for several of the houses was deleted without replacement.

All serious concerns had been carefully dealt with and examined.

In the session drafts in the committee and city council, this was of course only reproduced in abbreviated form for reasons of time: "If I had presented everything, I would probably still talk today," says Thum.

He also rejects the accusation of investor planning.

It is very much a question of urban planning.

But the interests of the investor must also be taken into account - otherwise the project would no longer be realistic.
