There was a fire service on Tuesday morning on Maximilianstrasse in Starnberg.
The reason was a gas alarm.
Starnberg
- Gas alarm for the Starnberg and Söcking volunteer fire brigades: Around 20 emergency services under the direction of district fire chief Maximilian Wastian were on duty on Maximilianstrasse yesterday. The police, ambulance and crews of three ambulances were also alerted. A gas leak in a building was reported at around 9.35 a.m. The smell was "clearly noticeable" in the basement and in the stairwell of the building, explains Wastian to Starnberg Merkur. Fire fighters equipped with respiratory protection then searched the cellar - and found a camping gas bottle in one of the compartments that was not completely closed. The bottle was turned off and handed over to the police, and the basement and stairwell were then aired. The house, in which there are apartments and doctors' surgeries, did not have to be evacuated, but “nobody was allowed in and out” during the operation, explains Wastian. After almost two hours, the mission was over and Maximilianstrasse was open to traffic again. ps
