Robbery in the Green Vault: Investigators have little hope of finding the art treasures
So
far, none of the stolen
art treasures
have been found
during the
raid
.
The officers were mostly looking for possible evidence, such as storage media, clothing and tools.
"It is also our goal to look for the stolen jewels," said a spokesman for the
Dresden
public prosecutor
.
The investigators, however, dampened
hopes
that the stolen objects would ever return to
Dresden
.
"You should be very lucky that you would still find it a year after the crime," said
Thomas Geithner
, spokesman for the
Dresden police
.
But he emphasized: "Hope dies last." The arrest of the
suspects
is the real success.
Berlin's Senator for the Interior,
Andreas Geisel, also
called the arrests a warning sign to the
Berlin clan milieu

“Nobody should believe that they can override this state and its rules.
The rule of law is the measure of all things.
He alone enforces order.
He's doing it more resolutely and smarter than some criminals believe, ”said Geisel.

In September, the focus was on production facilities; this may have been about the getaway car.
Previously, the special commission "Epaulette" found evidence in a Neukölln Internet café and an apartment.
The break-in of the Dresden treasury, the
Grünes Gewölbe
, caused a stir around the world last November.
At that time, two men had
looted
several
pieces
of
baroque jewelry made of gold, diamonds and brilliant-cut diamonds
of hardly measurable value.
So far there has been no
hot
lead to either the
perpetrators
or the
jewels
.
Only the escape vehicle was found completely burned out in an underground car park in Dresden a few hours after the coup.
