Two people were killed today (Tuesday) as a result of an explosion at a metal plant in the industrial area.

One other person was moderately injured.

Another wounded man evacuated himself independently to the hospital.

According to MDA, the team located two men in their 40s with no signs of life and another 40-year-old man in fair condition who was taken to Assuta Hospital in Ashdod with injuries to his limbs. Another wounded man was evacuated independently. 

MDA paramedics Matan Cohen and Michael Erlichman said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw destruction.

A 35-year-old man was rescued by people on the spot while fully conscious and suffering from a serious leg injury.

They put him in a private car and went out with him to team up with us.

We took him to an ambulance and urgently evacuated him to a hospital with life-saving treatment.

His condition is moderate and he was later put to sleep. "

The two added that "at the scene two men about 40 years old were found unconscious. They were pulseless and breathless with severe multi-system injury and after medical tests we had to determine their deaths at the scene.
