A musical trip to all directions of Syrian geography called for by the folkloric concert "Panorama Syria", the audience of Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, through a rich bouquet presented by the Oriental Music Orchestra led by Maestro Nazih Asaad.

The concert hosted by the drama theater in the house, during which the orchestra played 14 songs with one song for each governorate that expressed its tone and style of singing in it, including the multiplicity of topics presented from the henna of the bride, the low and the countryside, feelings of separation, magnanimity, longings, spontaneous spin, patriotism, love of the land, cooperation in building the homeland, and various topics of life .

The evening program, which distinguished itself, included that all its words and melodies belong to Syrian folklore, and it was prepared and distributed by Maestro Asaad, in which songs were presented from Homs “Al Ma'an”, from Hama “Balkahleh, I magiced me”, Aleppo “Al Rozna”, Idlib “Aly Eini” and Lattakia “Ya Maila Al Ghusoun From Tartous, “Extend your hand”.

The orchestra performed the song “Bdarbak Adil Al Raqqa” from the heritage of Raqqa, from Al-Hasakah “Dorto and Ma Tebo”, from Deir Ezzor “Aayel”, from Sweida “Ya Hanna”, from Daraa “Al-Hijiny”, from Quneitra “Tal Al-Hijran” and from Rif Al-Shami to conclude the evening. From Damascus “God revives your streets, and hands in your hand you will build”.

The evening was marked by a musical break between each song and another, as was evident from the orchestra’s endeavor to play a melody close to the original tune, which created a state of enjoyment for the audience with melodic approaches inspired by the heritage of each governorate with the addition of new musical phrases to it through the distribution process.

In a statement to SANA, the Maestro Asaad stated that during the ceremony, he made sure to use the basic oriental instruments, in addition to two oriental wind instruments that can be used in dealing with the raw folk melody, which are the zurna or the oboe and the manger.

He pointed out that the orchestra included integrated musical instrument groups that serve the purpose of the concert, in addition to a choir distinguished by sounds that are consistent with the styles of Syrian heritage singing.

It is noteworthy that the Oriental Music Orchestra was established in 2012 under the auspices of the Directorate of Theaters and Music and is concerned with the Arab, Eastern and Syrian heritage in particular and consists of 50 musicians between playing and singing, most of them students and graduates of the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus and the College of Music in Homs in addition to amateurs. With oriental instrumental music.

Maestro Nazih Asaad, born in Damascus, a graduate of the Higher Institute of Music, a teacher and oriental choral trainer at the institute, authored graphic music for television, documentary and program works, in addition to musical theater works and folk arts performances, and has Arab and international contributions.
