Russian special envoy to Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov confirmed that there is a lot of noise about the statements of outgoing US President Donald Trump about accelerating the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan.
"Trump will withdraw the troops, but not all of them, and this matter has a weak impact on the situation in Afghanistan," Kabulov said in a statement to Sputnik, adding that "this mood with which the United States is dealing creates more noise without solving problems."
And Kabulov considered that the actions of the United States are unjustified and somehow undermine the security situation in Afghanistan.
Yesterday, the US Department of Defense announced its intention to withdraw 2000 soldiers from Afghanistan and 500 from Iraq before the end of President Trump's term.
